I spent 2 weeks riding training constantly in Japan and never saw a homeless person on a train. I only saw 3 anywhere (in the largest city in the world). I just got into Boston and just got on my first train and I am sitting across from a homeless person sleeping on a train at noon. This is not the cause of mental illness or addiction. It is the cause of a system that doesn’t do anything when madmen murder children in our schools and we do nothing about it. Why would you ever think we’d do something about affordable housing? America CAUSES mental illness and addiction. Not the other way around. We are a careless and cruel country and it will be our undoing.
